Bing details four ways not to build links

In the Bing webmaster blog, Duane Forrester – Senior Product Manager wrote a blog post by explaining the four ways which you should not follow to build links to your site.

4 ways that you should not follow to build links by Bing is explained below:

  • Blind Requests: Sending requests through Email in bulk for getting back-link. Many of them try this method to get traffic and promote their business. Do not try to buy an email list for sending bulk emails for subscriptions.
  • Blog / Forum Comments: In any external forums or blogs, do not drop links in the comments field. This type of method does not help your website to rank better said Duane.
  • Link Injection: Hacking a website and injecting links in website content is a spam tactic. It is done into the body of content, header, or footer. Bing suggests your CMS software should be up to date and secure.
  • Guest Blogging: All search engines advise to do Guest Blogging, the same way Bing also allows and accepts Guest Blogging. Guest Blogging should not be crated to insert your links. Duane advises doing guest blogging to build your brand to drive traffic and create awareness. Inserting your website links in Guest Blogging is a failed SEO method.
